Speaking of the Kingdom We Seek

  • “To these [Jesus] also presented Himself alive after His suffering, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days and speaking of the things concerning the kingdom of God” (Acts 1:3).
  • “And [Paul] entered the synagogue and continued speaking out boldly for three months, reasoning and persuading them about the kingdom of God (Acts 19:8).

Forty days. Three months. The Kingdom was a regular part of the early Church’s preaching/teaching (Acts 8:12; 20:25; 28:23,31). How much do we have to say about it?

“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). Lord, may we seek Your Kingdom so that we have something to say about it to both reconciled citizens in Christ and rebels in need of the King’s clemency in Christ.
